Description
The Atmo Jacket was developed in close collaboration with our team of climbers who needed a lightweight and minimalist waterproof shell that still gave them the waterproof protection required on the biggest and most committing routes. It’s already seen use by Tim Miller on the 7 day first ascent of Surma-Sarovar in the Himalaya and by Tom Livingstone on K7 Main in the Karakorum, both in difficult and fast changing weather.
Using a 3-layer DRILITEⓇ 40D fabric the Atmo treads the line between the low weight and packability that sees it make the cut on hard, multi-day routes and the durability needed for ice and mixed climbing. Combined with our trim Alpine fit the fabric gives exceptional freedom of movement that’s just as suitable for steep ice routes in Canada or technical summer Alpinism in Chamonix as the thin air of technical 6 and 7000m peaks.
The Atmo retains the exceptionally protective Super Alpine Hood that’s also found on our benchmark Tupilak Jacket. A less substantial hood would save a few grams but ultimately it’s this extra protection that means you can keep operating effectively, whether going up or down, when the weather turns and spindrift is pouring far from the safety of the valley.
A single chest pocket keeps route essentials close to hand and a 2-way moulded YKKⓇ Aquaguard centre front zip is easy to use in tough conditions.
