Expedition warmth for high-altitude mountain use

The Mountain Equipment Paiyu Women's Down Jacket is a high-insulation alpine layer engineered with DRILITE® LOFT 40D outer fabric, 237g of 90/10 700 fill power duck down, and an advanced dual-layer offset baffle construction. Built for mountaineers, climbers and expedition users, it delivers exceptional warmth, weather protection and mobility for demanding objectives including high-altitude mountaineering, ice climbing and mixed climbing. Its heat-reflective lining technology and expedition-ready specification maximise thermal efficiency without the bulk typically associated with heavier insulation systems.

Performance & Engineering

• Dual-Layer Offset Baffle Construction: Engineered with a double-layer offset baffle design that eliminates cold spots at stitched seams, delivering more consistent insulation during prolonged exposure in cold mountain environments.

• High-Loft Down Insulation: Built with 237g (Size 12) of 90/10 700 fill power duck down to provide exceptional warmth while maintaining a compressible pack size for technical climbing and expedition use.

• Reflective Thermal Technology: Designed with a reflective internal scrim that helps return body heat back towards the wearer, improving thermal efficiency when carrying critical insulation in cold conditions.

• DRILITE® LOFT Weather Protection: Utilises DRILITE® LOFT 40D fabric with a durable water-repellent (DWR) finish, providing complete windproof performance and dependable protection from snow, spindrift and mountain weather.

• Expedition-Ready Mountain Features: Combines an Insulated Mountain HC Hood, insulated collar, 2-way YKK® Vislon® centre front zip with insulated baffle, and large internal storage pockets for gloves, water bottles and equipment that needs protection from the cold.

Care & Longevity

Machine wash or hand wash at 30°C using a specialist down cleaner. Tumble dry on a cool setting and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain loft and insulation performance. Avoid harsh detergents, excessive heat and prolonged compression during storage to preserve down effectiveness and the DWR treatment.
