Lightweight insulation for demanding alpine days

The Mountain Equipment Intra Hooded Men's Jacket combines HELIUM 20D outer fabric with 60g m⁻² Aerius™ synthetic insulation to deliver a highly breathable, wind-resistant insulating layer for serious mountain users. Designed for climbers, mountaineers and ski tourers, it performs as a standalone outer layer in stable conditions and as a warm mid-layer beneath a shell when conditions deteriorate. Built for all-mountain adventures, winter climbing and ski touring, it balances warmth, low weight and packability without restricting movement.

Performance & Engineering

• Advanced synthetic insulation: Engineered with 60g m⁻² Aerius™ synthetic insulation, combining hollow fibres and fine-denier fibres to deliver an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio, soft comfort and reliable performance in damp mountain conditions.

• Breathable weather protection: Built with HELIUM 20D fabric and a durable water-repellent (DWR) finish to resist wind, shed light rain and snow, and maintain breathability during high-output activities.

• Mountain-ready mobility: Designed with an Alpine fit and articulated, pre-shaped sleeves to support unrestricted movement when climbing, skiing or layering beneath a shell.

• Protective insulated hood: Utilises an Insulated Mountain HC Hood with rear adjustment for increased weather protection and helmet compatibility when technical terrain demands additional coverage.

• Packable alpine functionality: Combines a YKK® Vislon® front zip, insulated zip baffle, two zipped hand pockets and a supplied lightweight stuff sack for efficient storage, easy handling with gloves and reduced pack bulk.

Care & Longevity

Wash by hand or machine at 30°C using liquid detergent or a specialist cleaner. Tumble dry on a low heat with a slow spin speed and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid high heat during drying and always follow the manufacturer's care guidance to maintain insulation performance and DWR effectiveness.
